  • Attended Northern Nevada / Tahoe Regional Bicycle Summit
  • Kings Canyon / Ash Canyon Trail Meeting with Open Space and Parks and Rec.
  • Started Constant Contact for better email updates
  • Paypal membership option added to the MP website
  • Bike Month including:
    • Multi-Use Path Cleanup
    • Bicycle Movie Night
    • West Carson Cruiser Ride
    • Corporate Challenge – Carson City cyclists completed 987 trips by bike and logged in 3,234 miles.
    • Promoted and assisted Bicycle Shop Clinics and the Tour of Carson bike ride
    • Social events including Party and Fund Raiser at the Firkin and Fox
  • Muscle Powered’s Dan Allison was the Safe Routes to School Coordinator.
  • Muscle Powered subcommittee met to initiate bill supporting rights of Vulnerable Roadways Users at Legislature
  • Linear Bike Path ribbon cutting.
  • Worked with Campin’ Town to build bicycle campsites.
  • Worked with NDOT over dangerous cycling conditions on HWY 395 near Jack’s Valley Road during construction.
  • Bicycle Valet at the 3rd Street Farmers Market
  • Muscle Powered members assisted with construction of the Hobart Link Trail in the Tahoe back country
  • Booth, public outreach at the Happy Kids / Healthy Kids Event
  • Lobbied the city to provide better snow removal on sidewalks.
  • Roop Street phase 2 construction complete. Muscle Powered successfully lobbied the RTC to include bike lanes in the final plans.

  • MP attended RTC meetings to show support for bike lanes on Roop Street

November

  • Attended a meeting with BLM to discuss trailheads in the Pinenut Mountains
  • MP met with Parks and rec and NDOT regarding multi-use trail extension on southern Carson Bypass Freeway
  • MP met with the Carson City Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to discuss bicycle tourism and completing a off street/bike route loop around town. It was decided that MP would take the lead on this project. Attending: Candy Duncan (Convention and Visitors Beureau), Pete Livermore (Board of Supervisors) and Roger Moellendof and Vern Krahn (Parks and Recreation)

December

  • NDOT public meeting at Fuji Park on adding a northbound lane to Hwy 395 from Jacks Valley Rd to Old Clear Creek Rd

Misc.

  • Muscle Powered had a presence in the Nevada Appeal regularly throughout the year in the Friday Recreation section.
