Benton Ride

03 May

Muscle-Powered is holding an organized ride from Lee Vining to Benton Junction on Sunday May 16.

The carpool shuttle will leave the south end of Carson City at 6:30 a.m. enroute to Lee Vining. We will shuttle will cars to the end point at Benton Junction.

Riders will start the 46 mile ride at about 10 a.m. just south of  Lee Vining, traveling along State Route 120 to Benton Junction.

We plan to eat at the  Whoa Nellie Deli at Tioga Gas Mart Mobil station in Lee Vining afterward.

This will be an all day trip. The High Sierra Club has a website with elevations of the route if you are interested. It is supposed to be rolling hills, with a climb into Benton at the end, some rough pavement. The web site for the Sierra Fall Century has mileages and an elevation profile for hwy 120  from 395 to Benton Junction (and more): http://www.fallcentury.org/, click on 100-mile course. Also see http://eastsidevelo.org/?q=book for other rides in the area.

If you are interested in participating please call Kelly Clark at 315-2719 as we will need to coordinate the number of cars, bikes on cars, and shuttle.
