Bike Carson has posted the first of many entries on Bike to Work Month / Week / Day, including the poster and a calendar of events planned. The first event is tomorrow night, a (Almost) Full Moon Mountain Bike ride.
So that we don’t have to maintain pages and other resources in two places, the main content for Bike to Work will be hosted on Bike Carson. Check the Bike Month 2010 and Bike to Work Week Corporate Challenge 2010 tabs. The Google calendar is already a shared resource between Muscle Powered and Bike Carson, so you’ll see the same entries from either location. There will still be some posts on Bike to Work here on the Muscle Powered blog, but Bike Carson will really be hopping.
Jeff Moser posted Ten Reasons to Commute by Bike on Bike Carson. Thank you! I like the entire list, but “Reconnect with your community” is fresh in my mind. Riding yesterday early evening, I smelled a different dinner cooking at least every block, all the way home, and my mouth was watering. I chuckled at how many different things people were cooking. You don’t get that from a car!

Please consider attending the Open Space Committee meeting this Monday, April 19th if you would like to show your support for existing and future mountain bike trails. The meeting is in the Sierra Room at the Carson City Community Center and starts at 6:00 p.m.
We will present our Kings Canyon to Ash Canyon Trail plan, and ask for approval to start construction on the section of the trail which is managed by Carson City. By attending this meeting you will demonstrate to the Open Space Committee that building new mountain bike trails should be a priority for Carson City.
I hope to see you there.
